The Rainforest Council
The Council will be made up of young people who are supported by us in the UK. Council members will meet regularly online so they can live anywhere in the UK.
Why Join the Rainforest Council?
In addition to the satisfaction of helping to protect the rainforest and raising funds to support other vulnerable young people in the UK, we hope that Council members will also have some once in a lifetime experiences and maybe even get to travel to the rainforests to see the land that they have helped to protect.
Council members will get involved in all aspects of running this project, including contacting celebrities, writing blogs, using positive social media, brainstorming for new ideas and voting on which projects to support with the funds raised.
If approved, Gerry Tomlinson (Transitions Worker) and Keeley Willicott (Children and Families Practitioner) will set up an initial Rainforest Council made up of young people who they currently support. Working with this group of young people, they plan to develop the project ready for launch.
They will also engage with fellow Transitions Workers and Children's Practitioners to help support the roll out of the idea across the UK.
